While you're waiting for the release of "The Ernie Kovacs Collection" DVD set, here's something you can watch. While poking around for Kovacs pics, Google Images took me to a shot of Ernie on a website called "John Barbour's World". Yes, it's the John Barbour who made the documentary "Ernie Kovacs: Television's Original Genius" (1982), which aired on Showtime and was available on VHS a long time ago.
Mr. Barbour has posted the entire documentary on his website. Click here to go to his page for the show, where you can watch it, in eight somewhat lo-fi Quicktime file segments.

How PBS - and Ernie Kovacs - changed my life:

It's been real!
At the time this documentary was released on VHS the price was prohibitive: $99.00. I had taped it off of Showtime but the signal wasn't quite as strong as it could have been. I eventually got it from e-bay. In fact I watched the DVD transfer I made of it only last night. It's a great program!
